Here’s a fresh and simple Tomato Basil Pasta recipe that’s full of flavor:
Tomato Basil Pasta Recipe
Ingredients:
- 12 oz pasta (spaghetti, penne, or your choice)
- 4 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 4 cups cherry tomatoes (or Roma tomatoes, diced)
- 1 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for a little heat)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- Cook the pasta in salted water according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the cherry tomatoes to the skillet. Cook for 6-8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the tomatoes burst and release their juices. Use the back of a spoon to gently crush some of the tomatoes for a saucier consistency.
- Stir in the red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 2 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to combine with the tomato sauce.
- Remove from heat and stir in the fresh chopped basil and Parmesan cheese.
- Garnish with extra fresh basil leaves and serve immediately.
Tips:
- For extra flavor, you can add a splash of balsamic vinegar or a drizzle of balsamic glaze at the end.
- Add grilled chicken or shrimp for more protein.
Enjoy your bright and flavorful tomato basil pasta!
