Marry Me Chicken Recipe
Ingredients:
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ cup sun-dried tomatoes (drained and chopped)
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil or parsley (for garnish)
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Season and sear the chicken: Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Heat the olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken for 4-5 minutes per side, until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
- Make the sauce: In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the minced garlic. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Pour in the chicken broth and stir, scraping up any browned bits from the pan. Add the heavy cream, sun-dried tomatoes, Parmesan cheese, red pepper flakes (if using), and oregano. Stir and let the sauce simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Combine and bake: Return the seared chicken breasts to the skillet, spooning some sauce over the top. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F or 74°C).
- Garnish and serve: Remove the skillet from the oven, and let the chicken rest for a couple of minutes. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley, and serve over pasta, rice, or mashed potatoes.
Serving Suggestions:
- Pair with a side of roasted vegetables or a simple green salad.
- The creamy sauce is perfect for dipping crusty bread.
