Loaded Nachos Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 bag tortilla chips (about 12-16 oz)
- 1 lb ground beef, chicken, or turkey
- 1 packet taco seasoning (or homemade seasoning)
- 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar, Monterey Jack, or Mexican blend)
- 1/2 cup sliced black olives
- 1/2 cup sliced jalapeños (optional)
- 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/4 cup sliced green onions
- Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)
Optional Toppings
- Sour cream
- Guacamole
- Salsa
- Diced avocado
- Shredded lettuce
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Cook the Meat: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain any excess fat, then add taco seasoning and 1/4 cup of water. Stir well and let simmer for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Assemble the Nachos: Spread half of the tortilla chips in a single layer on a large baking sheet or oven-safe platter. Sprinkle half of the cooked meat, black beans, cheese, olives, and jalapeños over the chips. Add a second layer of chips and repeat with the remaining toppings.
- Bake: Place the nachos in the oven and bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Add Fresh Toppings: Remove from the oven and sprinkle with diced tomatoes, green onions, and fresh cilantro. Add sour cream, guacamole, salsa, or diced avocado as desired.
