Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 lbs beef sirloin or flank steak, sliced into thin strips
- 2 bell peppers (red, green, or yellow), sliced
- 1 onion, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup hoisin sauce (optional, for extra depth of flavor)
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch (optional, for thickening the sauce)
- 2 tablespoons water (for cornstarch slurry)
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
- Cooked rice or noodles (for serving)
- Fresh parsley or green onions (for garnish)
Instructions:
- Prepare the slow cooker:
Place the sliced beef in the bottom of the slow cooker. Add the sliced bell peppers, onion, and minced garlic. - Add the sauce ingredients:
Pour in the diced tomatoes, beef broth, soy sauce, hoisin sauce (if using), and brown sugar. Stir everything together to combine. - Season:
