Chicken and Broccoli Stir Fry Recipe
Ingredients
1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast or thighs, sliced thinly
2 cups broccoli florets
1 tbsp vegetable oil or sesame oil
Salt and pepper, to taste
For the Sauce
1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
2 tbsp oyster sauce (optional for depth of flavor)
1 tbsp cornstarch
1 tbsp brown sugar or honey
1/2 cup chicken broth or water
1 tbsp rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tsp fresh ginger, grated (optional for extra flavor)
Instructions
Make the Sauce: In a bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, brown sugar, chicken broth, vinegar, garlic, and ginger until smooth. Set aside.
Cook the Chicken: Heat the oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the chicken, season with salt and pepper, and stir-fry until cooked through, about 5-6 minutes. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
Cook the Broccoli: In the same skillet, add a bit more oil if needed, then add the broccoli. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until it’s bright green and tender-crisp.
Combine and Sauce: Return the chicken to the skillet with the broccoli. Pour the sauce over the chicken and broccoli, stirring to coat everything well. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
Serve: Serve hot over rice or noodles, and garnish with sesame seeds or chopped green onions if desired.
This chicken and broccoli stir fry is a tasty way to get a balanced meal in under 30 minutes. Enjoy!
