Creamy Mushroom Chicken

Here’s a delicious recipe for Creamy Mushroom Chicken:

Ingredients:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 8 oz (225g) mushrooms, sliced (cremini, button, or your choice)
  • 3-4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Season and Cook the Chicken:
  • Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder on both sides.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for 5-7 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  1. Cook the Mushrooms:
  • In the same skillet, add the butter and let it melt.
  • Add the sliced mushrooms and sauté until they release their moisture and become golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Add the minced garlic and cook for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  1. Make the Creamy Sauce:
  • Pour in the chicken broth and bring it to a simmer, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet.
  • Reduce the heat to medium-low and add the heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, and Italian seasoning. Stir until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
  1. Combine and Serve:
  • Return the cooked chicken breasts to the skillet, spooning the creamy mushroom sauce over the top.
  • Let the chicken simmer in the sauce for a few minutes to heat through.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.

This Creamy Mushroom Chicken pairs perfectly with mashed potatoes, pasta, or steamed vegetables. Enjoy!
