Ingredients:

  • For the Cake:
  • 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder
  • 1 ½ tsp baking soda
  • ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk

  • 1 cup boiling water
  • For the Chocolate Ganache:
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 oz dark or semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • For the Chocolate Frosting:
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 ½ cups powdered sugar
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ¼ cup whole milk (more if needed)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 4 oz melted dark or semi-sweet chocolate

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cocoa powder, sugar, and salt.
